Prize statutes
Music Export Prize
The recipient of the Government's Music Export prize should be seen as a good representative of Sweden who has helped to put Sweden on the map. The decisive factor is to be the contribution made to Swedish export success. The prize winner's achievement should to some extent be placed in relation to the industry or sector in which they are active. Major contributions in small sectors must also be eligible for the honour, and it is primarily activities from the previous year that are recognised. The jury is to adopt a global perspective, taking market size into account. Success in several large foreign markets carries extra weight as does proven creative entrepreneurship that has benefited both Swedish music exports and the image of Sweden. Hard work and artistic ambition are also to be taken into account. The prize can be given to several people who jointly meet the criteria, such as a group. The jury's decision must be unanimous.
Special Prize for long-standing contributions to Swedish music exports
The Special Prize goes to a figure in the music industry who has made a long-standing contribution to Swedish music exports or has spread Swedish music abroad, thus helping promote a positive image of Sweden. The prize winner's achievement should to some extent be placed in relation to the industry or sector in which they are active. Major contributions in small sectors must also be eligible for the honour. The prize can be given to several people who jointly meet the criteria, such as a group. The jury's decision must be unanimous.
Honourable mention for achievements of particular importance to the internationalisation of Swedish music
The Honourable Mention goes to a figure in the music industry who has made an important contribution to the international success of Swedish music. This prize is intended for those actors who are not composers, songwriters, producers, singers, musicians or other practitioners who nonetheless have made an important contribution to the international success of Swedish music. Examples of such actors are record companies, agents, music publishers or others who deserve particular mention. This prize will only be awarded when there are special grounds to do so. The award is based on long-standing contributions to Swedish music exports or the spread of Swedish music abroad. The jury's decision must be unanimous.
