Sweden’s and Finland’s possible accession to NATO and future Nordic defence cooperation were on the agenda at Tuesday’s meeting on Bornholm. It took place as the US-led multinational DEFENDER-Europe 22 exercise was ongoing.

The defence ministers and State Secretary were given an introduction to the exercise and a demonstration. Parts of the Danish army, navy and air force coastal defences, along with the US, are involved in the exercise from Bornholm and in the Baltic Sea. The exercise is focused on building operational readiness and interoperability between the US, NATO allies and partners.
