  • Government increases humanitarian support to Gaza

    In view of the extensive humanitarian needs in Gaza, the Government has presented a new humanitarian aid package amounting to SEK 120 million. The support will be distributed to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

  • Focus on space exploration during Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström’s Texas visit

    Mr Billström is visiting Texas on 13–15 May. The purpose is to present Sweden’s ambitions as a space nation and foster a good working relationship with Texas in relation to emerging technologies within the space industry.

  • Nordic summit on security and competitiveness in Stockholm

    • Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

      The intensified partnership agreement between Sweden and Germany was signed in connection with the heads of government’s visit to Norrsken Foundation.

    On 13–14 May, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson hosted the heads of government of the Nordic countries and Germany’s Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a summit in Stockholm. On Tuesday 14 May, Mr Kristersson and Mr Scholz held bilateral talks followed by a joint press conference in Swedish and German. The press conference is also interpreted to German. Sweden's support to Ukraine

Since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sweden has provided military, humanitarian and civil support to support Ukraine. Together with the EU, Sweden has also adopted macroeconomic support and several sanctions packages against Russia.
