The Presidency logo
The Presidency logo represents solidarity and community. ‘Sweden’, ‘2023’ and ‘EU’ form the Presidency’s web address. By highlighting different parts of the logo, more messages stand out:
- sweden eu underlines Sweden’s role as Presidency holder and our contribution to the Union.
- we 2023 reflects that Sweden, as Presidency holder, acts in the common interest of the Union.
- we eu illustrates the community of the EU Member States and the Union’s importance for its citizens.
The link between the letters ‘n’ and ‘u’ in the logo symbolises the Member States’ mutual solidarity. The yellow dot in the logo stands for determination and is a benchmark for the Member States’ shared way forward. Together, the different elements form a whole that symbolises the Presidency’s basic values – solidarity and community.
Inspired by the Swedish light
The Presidency’s visual identity is inspired by the Swedish light and its variation from January to June. The colours are those that Sweden and the EU have in common: yellow and blue.
The visual identity permeates all communication, whether spatial, printed or digital. The design of the meeting rooms will vary over the course of the Presidency, following the changing light of the seasons in Sweden – from the prevailing darkness of January to the midnight sun in June.
