New ambassadors from Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Cuba and Guinea

The ambassadors from Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Cuba and Guinea presented their letters of credence to H.M. The King in a formal audience at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on 5 February 2016. A letter of credence is an authorisation issued by an ambassador’s head of state. By presenting letters of credence to Sweden’s head of state, the ambassador can, from that day, fully represent their country in Sweden.
H.E. Ms Norlin Othman, Malaysia
Malaysia's newly appointed Ambassador Ms Norlin Othman was born in 1958 and has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1982, including at the Permanent Representation of Malaysia to the UN and at the Malaysian High Commission in Ottawa. In recent years she has held the following posts:
- 2012 – 2015 Malaysian High Commissioner in Bangladesh
- 2010 – 2012 Consul-General at the Malaysian Consulate-General in Medan, Indonesia
- 2006 – 2010 Minister Counsellor at the Malaysian High Commission in India
- 2004 – 2006 Principal Assistant Secretary (Budget) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuala Lumpur
H.E. Mr Jirí Šitler, Czech Republic
The Czech Republic's newly appointed Ambassador Mr Jirí Šitler was born in 1964 and has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1997. He has held the following posts:
- 2015 Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues and Combating Antisemitism at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague
- 2010 - 2015 Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Romania
- 2008 - 2010 Director of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague
- 2007 Special Envoy on Myanmar/Burma at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague
- 2006 Director of Diplomatic Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague
- 2001 - 2006 Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Thailand, concurrently accredited to Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar/Burma
H.E. Ms Rosario Navas Morata, Cuba
Cuba's newly appointed Ambassador Ms Rosario Cristina Navas Morata was born in 1948 and has served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1973. In recent years she has held the following posts:
- 2012 - 2015 Head of the Bureau of Special Political Affairs at the Protocol Division at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Havana
- 2006 - 2011 Ambassador of Cuba to Poland
- 2000 - 2006 Permanent Secretary and Acting President of the Cuban National Commission for UNESCO
H.E. Ms Fatoumata Balde, Guinea
Guinea's newly appointed Ambassador Ms Fatoumata Balde, based in Berlin, was born in 1962. In recent years she has held the following posts:
- 2015 Ambassador of Guinea to Germany, concurrently accredited to Austria, Poland, the Holy See, Norway, Denmark, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Liechtenstein
- 2010 - 2015 Adviser to the President on development issues
