New ambassadors to Sweden

Four ambassadors presented their letters of credence to HM The King on Thursday 2 June 2016 in a formal audience at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. A letter of credence is an authorisation issued by an ambassador’s head of state. By presenting letters of credence to Sweden’s head of state, the ambassador can, from that day, fully represent their country in Sweden.
H.E. Mr Jaime Ortega, Panama
Panama's newly appointed Ambassador Mr Jaime Ortega has a background in the world of banking and has not previously served in the foreign service. He has a degree in economics.
In recent years he has held the following posts:
- 2013–2015 Senior Vice-President and Head of Global Banking Division, Apollo Bank, Miami
- 2005–2012 President and Principal Broker, Biscayne Mortgage & Lending Corporation, Miami
- 1998–2005 Senior Corporate Commercial and International Lender, Espirito Santo Bank, Miami
H.E. Mr Toumani Diallo, Mali
Mali's newly appointed Ambassador Mr Toumani Diallo, based in Berlin, was born in 1947 and studied physics, biology, genetics and agronomy at the Universities of Abidjan and Toulouse. After his studies he worked as an economics teacher in France and subsequently as head of a pineapple plantation in Côte d'Ivoire and later as a mango exporter in Mali. Mr Diallo worked for several years as a newspaper editor and later in the state administration.
In recent years he has held the following posts:
- 2015–2016 Ambassador to Germany, concurrently accredited to Denmark, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
- 2014–2015 Chief of Cabinet for the President of Mali
- 2013–2014 Secretary-General of the Office of the President of Mali
- 2011–2013 Ambassador to Morocco
H.E. Mr Mahamat Senoussi, Chad
Chad's newly appointed Ambassador Mr Mahamat Senoussi, based in Berlin, was born in 1952. He has a technical education and has undertaken further education in human resources and administration.
In recent years he has held the following posts:
- 2011–2015 Counsellor in Charge of Mission, Presidency of the Republic of Chad
- 2008–2009 Director-General of the Chadian Water and Electricity Society
- 2001–2008 Counsellor in Charge of Mines, Energy and Oil of the President
- 1979–2001 Various management positions at the Chadian Water and Electricity Society
H.E. Ms Pema Choden, Bhutan
Bhutan's newly appointed Ambassador Ms Pema Choden, concurrently accredited from Brussels, was born in 1965 and has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1989. She has a Bachelor's degree and subsequently studied French and international relations, including at the ENA in France.
In recent years she has held the following posts:
- 2014–2016 Ambassador to Bangladesh, concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan and South Korea
- 2011–2014 Chief of the Europe, Americas and Africa Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thimphu
- 2007–2011 Managing Director, Bhutan Broadcasting Service, Thimphu
- 2005–2007 Head, Policy Planning Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thimphu
