Published

Minister for Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström is visiting Washington DC on 6–8 December for a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken. Discussions will focus on Sweden's Presidency of the Council of the EU, Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, China and NATO.

“I am looking forward to visiting Washington DC at this early stage of my tenure to fortify and further enhance our transatlantic relations – a clear priority for the Swedish Government,” said Mr Billström.

The visit also includes a trilateral meeting between the foreign ministers of Sweden, Finland and the United States, as well as meetings with senators and leading think tanks. Mr Billström will participate in a panel discussion on European security at the Washington DC edition of the prominent Aspen Security Forum. He will also speak at the Atlantic Council’s ‘Front Page’, which spotlights world leaders and solutions to current global challenges.
