“Sweden has long cooperated within the framework of the Nordic-Baltic format NB8. As Sweden is coordinator of the format in 2024, I look forward to discussing how we can further this cooperation. We will also discuss current foreign and security policy issues in our neighbourhood, not least continued support to Ukraine after Russia’s full-scale invasion,” says Mr Billström.

In 2024, Sweden is coordinating the informal foreign and security cooperation formats between the Nordic countries (N5) and the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8). The main priorities of this role as coordinator are to strengthen foreign and security policy cooperation in the region, maintain our regional unwavering support for Ukraine and ensure continued global support for Ukraine.

A joint press conference will be held after the meeting under the auspices of the NB8.
