Pål Jonson to travel to Singapore

On 30 May–1 June, Minister for Defence Pål Jonson will travel to Singapore to take part in the Shangri-La Dialogue, an annual intergovernmental security conference.
Mr Jonson will be attending the conference for the third consecutive year and will participate in a panel discussion entitled ‘Enhancing security cooperation for a stable Asia-Pacific’. In conjunction with the conference, he will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of countries in the Indo-Pacific region. The Government aims to foster its defence cooperation with partner countries in the region.
Organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the annual Shangri-La Dialogue gathers politicians, policy experts and business sector representatives from around the world to discuss security issues.

Defence policy direction for cooperation with the Indo-Pacific region
Security in the Euro-Atlantic region is becoming increasingly linked to security in the Indo-Pacific region. In 2024, the Government presented its defence policy direction for cooperation between Sweden and countries in the Indo-Pacific region.
