Pål Jonson takes part in NORDEFCO and NB8 meetings in Helsinki

On 12 November, the Nordic defence ministers will meet within the framework of the Nordic Defence Cooperation, NORDEFCO. At the meeting, they will discuss continued support to Ukraine, defence materiel cooperation and enhanced military cooperation within NORDEFCO. With NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska in attendance, the ministers are also expected to discuss current issues within the Alliance, with a particular focus on deterrence and defence on NATO’s northern flank. 

The next day, the Nordic-Baltic defence ministers will meet. They are expected to discuss matters concerning regional security and border protection, support to Ukraine, and NATO’s collective defence and presence in the North, including the Forward Land Forces.
