Ministry for Foreign Affairs condemns execution of Swedish citizen in Iran

The Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs has summoned Iran’s Ambassador to protest against the execution of a Swedish citizen who was arrested in June 2025.
The summoning took place earlier today, Wednesday 18 March.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation of the enforcement of the death penalty and the inadequate legal proceedings that resulted in its enforcement. The death penalty is an inhuman, cruel and irreversible punishment. Sweden, together with the rest of the EU, condemns its use under any circumstances.
