Published
On 21–22 May, Sweden will host a meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Helsingborg.
This will be the first time that Sweden has hosted a NATO meeting at ministerial level.
“Hosting a high-level meeting for the Alliance is a demonstration of Sweden’s ambitions to be an active and constructive NATO Ally,” says Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard.
As host country, Sweden is responsible for the practical arrangements for the event, in close cooperation with NATO. In connection with the meeting, Ms Malmer Stenergard will hold a number of bilateral meetings and talks.
“The Spring Meeting of NATO’s foreign ministers is an important part of the preparations leading up to the NATO Summit in Ankara in July. Topics of discussion during the Summit are expected to include a follow-up of the new commitment on defence expenditure decided at the NATO Summit in The Hague last year, as well as continued support for Ukraine,” says Ms Malmer Stenergard.
