Published

Each year Member States submit a national reform programme to the Commission, which reports on implementation of the European Semester, which is a framework for the coordination of economic policies across the European Union, in national policies.

Sweden's national reform programme 2021 is mainly based on measures and reform ambitions proposed by the Government in the Spring Fiscal Policy Bill for 2021 and the Spring Amending Budget.

In the reform programme, the Government reports measures in relation to the main economic challenges for the Swedish economy that the Commission has identified, for example in the country-specific recommendations to Sweden within the European semester. The reform programme also reflects the political priorities in the Commission's annual sustainable growth strategy.

An appendix to the reform programme also presents material received from social partners, regional and local actors and civil society organisations. The Government has not taken a position on this material.
