Ulf Kristersson receives Vietnam’s Prime Minister

On Friday 13 June Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for bilateral talks at Rosenbad. During the official visit, Sweden and Vietnam entered into a bilateral sectorial strategic partnership aimed at advancing cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

“Sweden and Vietnam share a strong and long-standing friendship, with diplomatic relations dating back to 1969. The signing of a strategic partnership is a testament to our deepening cooperation and commitment to shared progress in fields of great importance to both our countries,” says Prime Minister Kristersson.

A strategic partnership advancing cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation

In their deliberations on Friday 13 June, the Prime Ministers reaffirmed the broad bilateral relations between Sweden and Vietnam, and the aspiration to continue working closely together. Discussions centred on enhancing collaboration in key areas such as multilateral cooperation, trade, green transition and innovation. A sectorial strategic partnership was signed during Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit, and ceremonially handed over after the bilateral talks at Rosenbad.

The strategic partnership on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation marks an important step towards further strengthening bilateral ties and fostering innovation-driven growth in both countries.
