On Tuesday 5 May, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson received President of the Republic of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda for a bilateral meeting in Stockholm. Minister for EU Affairs Jessica Rosencrantz also participated.

During the meeting at Sager House, the leaders discussed expectations ahead of Lithuania’s Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2027, support to Ukraine, and security and defence policy issues.
“Sweden and Lithuania have a close relationship – as EU members, NATO Allies and in our partnership in defence and security linked to the Baltic Sea region. It is gratifying that Lithuania intends to pursue its strong support for Ukraine during its Presidency of the Council of the EU. Sweden looks forward to continuing to strengthen our relations with Lithuania,” says Mr Kristersson.
In conjunction with the visit, Ms Rosencrantz also met with Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigitas Mitkus, who is responsible for EU issues, for a bilateral meeting.
