The Royal Dramatic Theatre

The Royal Dramatic Theatre AB (Dramaten) is Sweden’s national theatre. It is the leading Swedish institution in the area of theatre and, as a national theatre, its studios and workshops should maintain the highest level in terms of development, renewal, artistic quality and craftsmanship.
Dramaten was founded in May 1788 by King Gustav III. Since 1975, it has been a state-owned limited company.
