On 5 September, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa is participating in a meeting of Nordic development cooperation ministers in Helsinki. The meeting is taking place within the framework of the N5 informal foreign and security policy cooperation format.
“Nordic cooperation is stronger than ever. The Nordic countries are forerunners in development cooperation policy, and when we work together we achieve greater impact. That’s why I’m delighted to meet with my Nordic colleagues in Helsinki to discuss common priorities and initiatives, such as continued robust support for Ukraine,” says Mr Dousa.
The meeting agenda includes support for Ukraine, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, development financing, UN reform and innovative solutions for climate adaptation and resilience. In conjunction with the N5 meeting, a bilateral meeting focusing on trade issues will also be held between Mr Dousa and Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio.
The ministers for development cooperation will also be joined by Petteri Taalas, Secretary General of the Finnish Meteorological Institute, for a working lunch on innovative solutions for climate resilience and adaptation.
