Sweden to provide USD 108 million to American initiative in support of Ukraine

Sweden is contributing USD 108 million to the US-initiated Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL). The funds are part of the previously communicated support package for Ukraine.
“Through the PURL initiative, Ukraine gains access to high-priority American defence materiel, including advanced air defence systems and ammunition. This is crucial to Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russia’s continued attacks. Sweden’s support is long-term, substantial and based on Ukraine’s needs and priorities,” says Minister for Defence Pål Jonson.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sweden has provided SEK 128 billion in military support to Ukraine. Some of this support has gone to supporting funds and initiatives from other countries.
PURL is an American initiative administered by NATO. Within the framework of the initiative, the US makes high-priority American defence materiel available through support packages financed by Allies and partner nations.
This is the fourth time that Sweden contributes to PURL. With this contribution, Sweden has provided a total of USD 543 million in financial support to PURL.
