Prime Minister hosted Nordic-Ukrainian Summit in Stockholm

Friday 31 May, Prime Minster Ulf Kristersson hosted a Nordic-Ukrainian Summit in Stockholm. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Finland’s President Alexander Stubb, Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Iceland’s Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson took part.
During the Summit, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland signed bilateral agreements on security cooperation with Ukraine. Now all the Nordic countries have signed such agreements.
“Ukraine can count on continued strong support from the Nordic countries. Ukraine’s cause is our cause,” says Mr Kristersson.
Discussions during the Summit centred largely on the Nordic countries’ continued military and civilian support to Ukraine. The Nordic leaders also held bilateral meetings with Mr Zelenskyy.
A working lunch on Swedish military support to Ukraine was held in the afternoon at Sager house. In addition to Mr Kristersson and Mr Zelenskyy, Minister for Energy, Business and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch, Minister for Employment and Integration Johan Pehrson, Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson, Sweden’s National Security Adviser, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and representatives of the Swedish defence industry were also in attendance.
