13.4 Freedom from custom inspection

The personal luggage of diplomats, career consular officers and their families are exempt from customs inspection. In case there are serious grounds for believing that luggage contains articles of which import or export is prohibited or articles other than such intended for the official use of the mission or the personal use of the diplomatic agent, custom inspection can be required. In this case the inspection is carried out in the presence of the diplomatic agent or of his/her authorized representative.
