Prime Minister to receive Iceland’s President

On Tuesday 6 May, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will receive Iceland’s President Halla Tómasdóttir for a bilateral meeting at Rosenbad. A joint press conference will be held after the meeting. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the President’s State Visit at the invitation of His Majesty the King.

The meeting agenda includes cooperation between Sweden and Iceland to continue supporting Ukraine, strengthen joint resilience and promote trade and investment.

Following the meeting at Rosenbad, Mr Kristersson and President Tómasdóttir will hold a joint press conference, which will be broadcast live on the Government website. The press conference will be held in English.

Practical details regarding the press conference

Time: 6 May 2025, 15.00
Location: Journalists who have registered in advance may attend the Press Centre at Rosenbad. Entrance: via Drottninggatan 1.

Photo opportunity: There will be a photo opportunity in conjunction with Mr Kristersson welcoming Ms Tómasdóttir to Rosenbad (handshake). 

Registration: Advance registration for the photo opportunity is required by 13.00 on Tuesday 6 May, and 14.20 for the press conference via email to Nadine Sohier (see press contacts). Please give your name, the name of your editorial office and the capacity in which you wish to attend (reporter or photographer) and whether you wish to attend the photo opportunity, the press conference or both. Please include your press credentials. Admittance at 14.00 for the photo opportunity and from 14.50 for the press conference. Attendance is subject to available space.
