Prime Minister announces national minute of silence following Örebro attack
Published
To honour the victims of the attack in Örebro, a minute of silence will be observed on Tuesday 11 February at 12.00.
“The unthinkable has happened, and the entire country grieves with those affected. 4 February 2025 will forever be a dark day in Swedish history. To honour the victims who never came home to their loved ones, I would like to invite everyone throughout the country to come together in a minute of silence,” says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
On Tuesday, flags will fly at half mast from 09.00 until the minute’s silence has been observed.
The timing was decided in dialogue with Örebro Municipality and Örebro County Administrative Board, which will honour the victims in Stortorget in Örebro, and with the Riksdag, which will observe the minute’s silence in the Chamber.
The Prime Minister encourages everyone who is able to observe the minute of silence.
