Financial support via funds

Sweden has provided financial contributions to different funds for military support to Ukraine.

NATO Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) Trust Fund 

The NATO Ukraine Comprehensive Assistance Package (CAP) Trust Fund includes initiatives to provide Ukraine with immediate, short-term and long-term support. 

Through the CAP, Sweden has contributed funds to rehabilitation projects for wounded soldiers, IT and satellite systems, as well as humanitarian demining equipment. Swedish support has also been channelled into the procurement of support equipment for medical evacuation helicopters.

NSATU Trust Fund

NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) supports the coordination of allied and partner nations’ military support to Ukraine. The NSATU Trust Fund is designed to allow NSATU to better respond to urgent demands in order to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for example demands for spare parts.

International Fund for Ukraine (IFU)

The IFU is a UK-administered fund that aims to use financial contributions from international partner countries to rapidly procure priority military equipment to donate to Ukraine. Contributing countries so far are the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, Germany, Finland, Belgium and Canada.

The Fund’s procurement packages have included equipment such as artillery ammunition, drones, small boats, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, electronic warfare systems, air defence systems, mine clearance equipment and spare parts for combat vehicles.
