Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure

On 19–21 November, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard will take part in the State Visit by TM The King and Queen to Singapore. During the Visit, Ms Malmer Stenergard will meet with her Singaporean counterpart and other government representatives, and take part in security and trade-related talks. She will also give a speech at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, a think tank. The King and Queen will have meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Singapore, which Ms Malmer Stenergard will also attend.

Dan Ericsson, State Secretary to Minister for Rural Affairs Peter Kullgren, visited Nairobi, Kenya on 27–30 October. The visit centred around a high-level meeting in the international School Meals Coalition, where Sweden is in the steering committee, but it also included several visits related to food supply and production, and forestry.

The Government today presented a government bill to the Riksdag with proposals on how Sweden will contribute to NATO’s overall deterrence and defence in the North Atlantic area in 2025.

Sweden is running for a seat on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council. The Council is the IMO’s executive body comprising 40 members. The candidacy is for the 2024–2025 term.

On 27–28 February, Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch and Minister for Infrastructure and Housing Andreas Carlson will host an informal meeting of EU ministers in Stockholm. On the agenda are discussions on the future of energy and transport in the EU.
