Prime Minister to host meeting of Nordic prime ministers and heads of government

The meeting will take place in connection with the 2025 Session of the Nordic Council, which Sweden is hosting. The meeting will be attended by the leaders of Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland. Photo: Ninni Andersson/Government Offices of Sweden On Tuesday 28 October, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will receive his Nordic counterparts in Stockholm for a meeting within the Nordic Council of Ministers. President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will also attend. A joint press conference will be held after the meeting.

Sweden and Ukraine deepen air force cooperation
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have signed a letter of intent concerning cooperation in the field of air capabilities. This LOI between Sweden and Ukraine is the first step in a potential major export deal.

Government taking part in 2025 Session of the Nordic Council in Stockholm
‘The Nordics together – Nordic value and cohesion in troubled times’ will be the focus of discussions when the annual Session of the Nordic Council takes place in Sweden’s Riksdag on 27–30 October. Several ministers will represent the Government.

Prime Minister receives President of Montenegro
On Monday 20 October, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson received President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović for a meeting in Stockholm. Topics of discussion included Montenegro’s EU accession process. Minister for EU Affairs Jessica Rosencrantz also took part in the meeting.

The Budget for 2026 in five minutes
The strength of Sweden’s public finances is now being drawn upon to put more money in the pockets of hard-working people. This can inspire belief in the future and bring the economic downturn to an end. With the Government’s reforms, a family with two children will have an additional SEK 1 800 per month. The Budget includes reforms totalling almost SEK 80 billion, and is based on an agreement between the Government and the Sweden Democrats.
